What you’ll do:
In this role, you’ll take an active role in the interaction design of our AI-driven products, with the freedom to innovate and iterate. Here’s what your first 12 months might look like:
● Set up your new MacBook Pro and Wacom tablet if you’d like one.
● Discover the breadth and depth of the products you’ll design for - on the web and mobile.
● Immerse yourself in our Design System, define improvements, and get them published.
● Iteratively design end-to-end experience for big-ticket product features.
● Get to know our customers and users by name - meet entrepreneurs and some incredible small businesses.
● Engage with talented developers to make your designs reality, and collaborate on our Development Framework, Carbon.

Key responsibilities:
As a Senior UX Designer, your responsibilities will include:
● Competitor analysis, definition of the user model, discovery of business rules and constraints, collaboration with analysts.
● Design of our product ecosystem as well as specific product features, including layout patterns, UI elements, navigation patterns, and information architecture.
● Divergent and convergent, iterative design, backed up with rationale and critique.
● Rapid prototyping and user testing.
● Production of high-fidelity pixel-perfect designs, and key states treatments, collaborating with visual designers and developers.
● Developing the Sage brand, pattern libraries, and Design System.
● Support, coaching and mentoring of junior colleagues.
● Peer review, feedback and critique to support the design of others.
● Influencing and stakeholder relationship management.
You’ll bring strong experience of:
● UX and UI design, with a track record of shipped projects.
● Interaction design - low-to-high fidelity, iterative design
● Expert level use of Figma
● The design of cloud software, software-as-a-service (SaaS), or rich interactive systems.
● Design thinking (Empathize, Define, Ideate, Prototype and Test)
● Accessible design
● Responsive design
Not essential, but practical experience is a good advantage in:
● Information architecture
● Lean and Agile methodologies
● Design Sprint, or value proposition design methods
● Customer journey mapping, service design
● Product-led growth
● Designing for product ecosystems or Design Systems
● Design collaboration and critique in a larger design organisation
● Native mobile (iOS or Android)
These areas have dedicated team members to deliver them, but generalist experience is a good advantage:
