We’re now looking for a talented mid-weight Product Designer to join our Supporter Revenue team.
The mission of the Supporter Revenue team is to keep our readers informed while finding new ways to engage and monetise our audience through supporter revenue channels. Reporting to one of our Product Design Leads, the Product Designer will join a growing team and help craft exceptional user experiences for our supporter revenue and subscription services.
About the role
As a Midweight Product Designer, you will be responsible for continuously evolving the supporter proposition and experience, incorporating feedback, and staying ahead of industry trends to keep our design approach innovative and effective. Your expertise will also be crucial in providing designs for new experiences that delight and engage users and meet business goals.
- Design and iterate on digital experiences for subscription flows, account management, supporter revenue tools, and premium content experiences across web and mobile platforms.
- Create wireframes, prototypes and high-fidelity UI designs to effectively communicate ideas and design solutions.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, engineers, marketers, and data teams to align on goals, product vision, and user needs.
- Test and iterate on designs based on user feedback, A/B testing, and data insights to continuously improve the user experience,
- Ensure accessibility and inclusivity in design solutions, keeping the needs of all users in mind.
- Contribute to our design system by maintaining consistency in UI components, visual design, and interaction patterns
- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends in subscription models, digital media, and UX/UI design best practices.
About you
- Demonstrable product design experience working across iOS, Android, and web platforms, including expertise in in tools like Figma, Sketch and Adobe Creative Cloud
- Familiarity with subscription or donation-based revenue models in the media or publishing industry, along with a keen interest in journalism and the media landscape.
- Strong foundation in graphic design principles, including typography, colour theory and visual hierarchy
- Able to articulate design concepts and rationales to diverse stakeholders and to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Capable of handling multiple projects and priorities simultaneously in an Agile environment
- A commitment to fostering diversity in design, bringing varied perspectives and creativity to the role.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate design concepts and rationales to diverse stakeholders.
- Deep understanding of user-centred design principles with the ability to demonstrate their business value.
- A keen interest in journalism and a strong understanding of the media landscape.
