Hungry for a challenge?

That’s good, because at Just Eat Takeaway.com (JET) we have abundant opportunity or as we say, everything is on the table. We are a leading global online food delivery marketplace. Our tech ecosystem connects millions of active customers with hundreds of thousands of connected partners in countries across the globe.

Our mission? To empower every food moment around the world, whether it’s through customer service, coding or couriers.

About this role:

Just Eat Takeaway is after a junior writer to join its small yet high-performing UX (user experience) writing team. You’ll be tasked with providing the finest hand-crafted artisanal UX copy for our customer, restaurant and courier apps and websites.

You’ll work across all areas of our business, from onboarding partners to post-order customer care. And you’ll work with an equally wide range of stakeholders, from designers to product managers, call centre operatives to software developers.

If you’re excited about getting your words in front of millions of customers, the restaurant and retail partners from whom they’re ordering, and the hard-working couriers who make it all possible, this is for you.

In return you’ll get a good salary, resources and support for your personal and professional development, great career opportunities and the chance to work with a bunch of genuinely lovely (and incredibly talented) folk.

You don’t need to have experience in writing UX copy. Maybe you’re a budding marketing copywriter, journalist, author or content creator looking to establish themselves. Maybe you’ve just graduated with a writing-related college diploma or university degree.

What matters most is that you’ve got a passion for written communication and helping people with your words. Ideally you’ve got a portfolio or collection of published writing that demonstrates that, even if it’s your own blog or Substack.

Sound good? Get in touch.

In your first six months, you’ll:

  • Help create the best possible user experience for people using our products
  • Contribute to our UX writing resources, such as our style guide or termbank, and ensure it’s regularly updated and fit for purpose
  • Get to grips with our tone of voice and act as an ambassador for it
  • Build a network of contacts around the business and be an advocate for good UX copy
  • Contribute to the team’s ways of working and help shape its future

This job’s for you if:

  • You know the difference between license and licence, and which one’s which
  • The incorrect use of apostrophes gets you hot under the collar
  • You enjoy having a conversation with people through the written word
  • You continually look for ways to become a better writer
  • You’re as comfortable writing to a character count as you are a word count
  • You’re willing to sharing your writing with an audience and receive constructive feedback
